In the Meantime...

Today is the first day of school for us! Technically, I am still on a blog break while we settle into this new routine. But in the meantime...

What do you think about these wise words from King Solomon?

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth up the bones.

How much do encouraging words and a cheerful attitude contribute to our health? What are your thoughts on how building an atmosphere of joy effects our children's health? Please comment to share with us your consideration of these verses! I am very curious to hear your thoughts...

With peace and joy,

Wow! I needed to be reminded of these verses. A mother has amazing power over the atmosphere of a home, and I must admit that at times I forget that and let my moodiness or anxiety radiate instead of peace and joy. I definitely feel that kids coming from peaceful homes have better eating habits and less stress-induced illness. Thanks for highlighting these verses!

The Bible says a lot about the power of the tongue. It indicates that harnessing (bridling, actually) the tongue is an indication of having other parts of our life under control.

In the same manner, choosing our words wisely effects other folks very much. And choosing to be uplifting in the way we deal with others can have a strong impact on them.

I've a friend who is so sincere, but free & easy with compliments. And they really encourage other people. I wish i could be more like that.

Currently i'm smarting because of something someone said to me, & it does effect how i'm feeling. Even when people mean well they can say such thoughtless things.

Thank you for sharing. :)

I so needed to read this today! What a wonderful reminder of the influence we have as moms. Thank you. Encoraging words completely contribute to our health. When my husband or a friend says something especially kind and loving it makes my day! This is definitely a gift I try to pass onto my children without sounding insincere. Keeping things positive can make everything run much more smoothly in a household. :)
