Well, I know that some of my headaches are due to constant noise. That's unavoidable in a busy household. But what about other reasons? It is so hard to nail down just what triggers our headaches! Just the hormone factor is enough to be overly-complicated...

I used to get headaches and migraines related to hormones - when I started birth control both let up. (Ice to the neck and heat to the feet cured my migraine most every time. I'd just have to not do anything real intense the rest of the day, but still fully functioning.) Now that I'm pregnant, I have probably 4-5 headaches a week - too may! They seem to be tension headaches, stemming from my shoulders. If my husband massages my shoulders and neck they let up. Also peppermint oil helps too.
I have horrible migraines. What significantly helped was the methods in a book called Heal Your Headache by Dr. David Buccholz. Take out meds that make them worse, diet change to discover food triggers, etc. It is what led me to a natural, organic diet in fact. What I discovered was that MSG was one of my major triggers (along with tomatoes and lemons). What relief! I'm still looking for natural ways to relieve them, thanks for the link and I look forward to reading other comments.
Chiropractic care is, hands-down, the best way to cure headaches and just about every other malady we all suffer from! Our family has been seeing a chiro for about 4 years now and our allergies are just about all gone, high blood pressure - gone; headaches - gone; back spasms - gone....the list can go on. ;-) If you're spine is not aligned, then your body is not receiving all the info from the nerves that branch out from the spine that it should.
Oh, the best is CranioSacral work.
Going along with that is chiropractic, & avoiding food triggers like gluten & sulfates (champagne & wine) & all the other nasty chemicals.
But most of all, CranioSacral work. I used to use a ton of meds for migraines, 'cause if i didn't they just wouldn't go away. But i got this work done & in 2 years i used the same amount of meds that i used to use in 2 months. And i've not used any at all since last December! I found the side effects of the meds worse & that now the H/A will resolve itself. If you want to know more, email me. I'm a true enthusiastic believer. Of course, i believe the migraines began because of an injury when i was a child. I can feel the pressure changes in my head when i'm receiving this work.
Thanks for that! I always wondered about mine. I would get mild headaches and feel like my mind's too tired to think. I labeled it mommy brain.
